In General Dentist

We all go through our dental education learning a little about a lot of subjects. Some procedures we need to be proficient at when we graduate, while others mere exposure may be a lot. Once we get into the outside world, we need to see what is the norm in terms of practice proficiency and decide how we will travel in our dental careers.

We cannot open a current dental publication without seeing something about dental implants. It seems that the whole world has embraced this procedure and we may be the only ones not involved with it. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Although there are a number of dental implantology courses that are available, many of us are hesitant to get involved with them. First of all, these dental implant training courses usually involve a large financial investment. Early in our careers, money may be very tight. An investment of 10-20K may be out of the question. Many courses involve (or should involve) live dental implant training. This usually increases the cost of the course. Did I mention time away from the office? While some of us are not that busy, the thought of closing down our office for a week or longer may not be a wise business decision. If you do decide to make the time and financial commitment, the gap between didactic and hands on starts to grow and develop once the course is completed. We all know what it is like to take a course and then take a considerable amount of time before we try the procedure or technique.

These and other factors were the motivation behind the forming of Dental Implant Trainers. Our goal is to create an educational model and ongoing support built for the general practitioner. Because we are close by, taking extensive time out of the office is not really a concern. Our main course usually takes place at a dental implant training center where lecture, hands on and live dental implant training take place. The classes are designed to be small so that each participant will feel like he or she is having a private session. Our dental implantology courses do not end there.

A unique service we offer that is extremely important to the entire learning process is our Mentoring Program. This allows you to perform procedures in your own office with someone standing over your shoulder guiding and advising you throughout the procedure. If you prefer, your first few cases can be performed by one of our dental implant trainers. You can participate as little or as much as you desire. We believe that this is crucial to your implant dentistry education.

Of course, guidance and advice can be as close as a phone call or a WhatsApp message. We are there for you when you need it. Our goal is to help you on the journey to expanding the scope of your practice. These dental implant training courses are designed for the GP and taught by a GP. We can’t think of a better place to start you off in this exciting field.
